Enjoy one of the best orchestras in the world in the Rudolfinum concert hall. The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) gave its very first concert in 1896, conducted by no less than Antonín Dvořák. Since the beginning of the CPO's existence its reputation has been furthered by internationally-esteemed guest conductors including Edward Grieg, Sergey Rachmaninoff and Gustav Mahler. Restaurant U Marcanu serve the typical czech dinner and presents the Czech folklore night - "The wine party". All the evening 4-5 musicians play the folk music and local wine is served from the special glass pipes, which are used in the wine-cellars of Moravia. After dinner comes "the show" - program of Bohemian, Moravian, Slovakian folk songs with the folk dances, the gipsy songs and gipsy dance. You have an opportunity to see typical folk-instruments, such as hammer-dulcimer, fujara (shepherds-whistle) and bag-pipe. Then after a break international music comes according to the wish of the guests so everybody can join and can dance or sing etc. At the very end, around 10.15 p.m. the visitors can listen to famous compositions of classical music, which were inspired by folk music (Smetana, Dvořák, Mozart, etc.).

The wine party starts at 7,30 p.m. and ends around 10,30 p.m.

Countryside celebration of Czech folklore dance and music! Folklore night performed outside – especially pleasant in the summer time.

You are invited to an unforgettable evening that will get you in touch with the Czech soul and tradition. While sharing the countryside atmosphere in the tranquil garden you will be able to savor hearty Czech food, have lots of fun, and learn a great deal about the Czech people, their music, dance, and folklore. Typical Czech three courses meals are prepared on the our outdoor grill. Local wines and famous Czech beers are served free, all the evening! The folklore program includes a full folklore show performed by 4-6 professional dancers, 5-6 musicians, and a moderator, dressed in traditional Czech clothing. During the show, guests are encouraged to take an active part in singing and dancing (guided by the performers). International songs will be played during the last part of the evening according to the guests' nationality. The show lasts two and a half hours, from 20:00 to 22:30.

Note: The venue is not in the touristic centre. Some transfer is needed (taxi costs about 10 US), or a tram n. 12, 14, 20 to the stop Hlubocepy and 2 min. walk.
